A Sneak Peek of my website

Here is the front page of my website (so far). Let me know your thoughts. I am hoping to have the site finished by the end of May if not sooner. Until then I will continue to post designs on Etsy.

Website

I have started working on my website: Whimsique.com, because it will take some time I will keep posting templates and current designs on etsy.com/shop/whimsique. I would love to get some input on what I have so far. These are all invitations that I currently have and will have as templates for people but need to design some new ones? Any suggestions?

Etsy

So, I ventured into the world of Etsy. I have dabbled a touch before, but this was diving in. Etsy is so cool! For those of you who haven't heard of it before it is a website designed to promote the small business and hand crafted products. It is divided by subject and even if you aren't on there to sell something, you are able to post an item you are looking to buy and have "shops" bid for your business. I set up a "shop" where I am able to post already designed invites to sell and hopefully get the word out while working on setting up my personal website. If you have any suggestions of how to get more visibility and let people know about Whimsique I would love some tips:)

The beginning

My name is Melissa. I LOVE to design, to be creative and to meet new people. I needed a creative outlet and I wanted a way to help people as they enter so many of the most important seasons of their life: weddings, anniversaries, becoming parents, birthdays. I love celebrating. I love being unique. I love things that are whimsical.... And thus the start of Whimsique. This is a new venture for me, plunging into how you start your own business and the ins and outs of stationary and invitations and print. It's a lot of work, and I love every minute of it.

More to come!
